Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Arrival Procedures

  • School begins at 9:10 a.m. Students arriving after 9:10 will be considered late. Parents/ Guardians driving students to school will need to sign students in at the front desk.

  • Students walking or being dropped off should arrive no earlier than 8:50 a.m. Students will be admitted at 9:00 for the start of school. Students having breakfast will be admitted  at 8:45 a.m. Students arriving after 9:10 a.m. will not be able to have breakfast in the cafeteria.

  • Parents/Guardians dropping off students in the morning should keep to the right and form one line under the canopy. Follow the direction of staff to keep the cars moving and keep our students safe.

  • All traffic is one-way. Follow the arrows and designated signs.

    Dismissal Procedures

  • The school day ends at 3:35 p.m. Early excusals must follow the procedures as established in the Parent/Student Handbook. Dismissals after 3:15 p.m. will not be granted unless an emergency situation exists.

  • Students who are walkers will be called first for dismissal. Students are expected to cross with the crossing guard at the designated places.

  • Students who are being picked up will be called next. Parents/Guardians picking up students can either park or form a line of waiting vehicles. Cars should wait for the signal of staff to proceed under the canopy and form one line to the left.  You may be asked to pull your vehicle up so we may have more than one car waiting. Please bear in mind there are two lines of cars merging to pick up students. Please allow for cars to merge appropriately taking turns. Everyone is in a hurry so patience is necessary to ensure safety and a speedy dismissal.  All cars exit one way.

  • Students who are bussed will leave via the back exit of the school.  Students are supervised by their teachers, staff and the Bus and Safety Coordinators. Students will special needs are assisted by their teachers and staff.

  • Kindergarten and designated special needs students must be met at the bus stop by a parent, guardian or responsible older sibling. (Please refer to Parent/Student Handbook for further guidelines.)

  • If your child is not riding the bus and will be picked up please write a note to the classroom teacher. Students may not just take another bus.  Parents will not be permitted to remove a child from the bus once they have boarded the bus. This delays the departure of the bus and students arrive at their bus stop late.

It is our hope to keep our students and staff safe at all times. We are hoping that these guidelines will establish safe practices for all. Please call if you have any questions or concerns.
